Staffordshire Garden Supplies, part of Oakley's Farm Group, is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and in our supply chains. This statement is made voluntarily, in the spirit of section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, and sets out the steps we take.
We supply garden and landscaping materials, including aggregates, composts and topsoil, decorative stone, bark, timber and reclaimed barrels, from Dilhorne, Staffordshire. We sell to the public and deliver across Staffordshire and the surrounding areas.
Our supply chains are short and largely UK-based. They include quarries and aggregate producers, compost and bark suppliers, timber merchants, suppliers of reclaimed barrels, and providers of everyday business services such as fuel, equipment and IT. Wherever practical we buy from established UK suppliers we know and deal with directly.
We assess new suppliers before trading with them, favour long-standing relationships with reputable UK businesses, and remain alert to warning signs of labour exploitation, particularly in sectors such as haulage, quarrying and agriculture where risks are known to exist. If we found evidence of modern slavery in our supply chain, we would end the relationship and report it to the appropriate authorities.
Anyone with a concern about slavery or human trafficking connected to our business or supply chain, whether an employee, supplier or member of the public, is encouraged to contact us at enquiries@staffordshiregardensupplies.co.uk. Concerns can be raised in confidence. The national Modern Slavery Helpline is also available on 08000 121 700.
We review this statement, and the way we buy, each year and update it as our business grows.
